Hi,

I am looking to find my cousin Pete Panos. Haven't talked to him in years, but miss my "long lost' family. Pete, if you're out there, please write back so we can talk, and maybe I can reconnect with the Greek part of my family.

I look forward "hopefully" to hearing from you!

Take care...

Hello,
My grandfather, Alex Letsos, was born in 1889 in Nestani (Tsipiana) and came to America around 1900 or so by himself. I was very little when he passed away so never got the chance to talk with him about his life. I was told by other relatives that he had a younger brother who also came over a few years after my grandfather. Nobody seems to know his name or much about him other than he passed away somewhere in the northern USA a few years after his arrival. My grandfather may have had 2 or 3 sisters who's names I don't know either. His parents and sisters remained in Nestani all their lives as far as I know. My grandfather ended up coming to Canada and lived his life in and around Nanaimo, B.C. If anyone happens to know anything about the Letsos family(s) from Nestani, please email me at letsos@shaw.ca. I do have more info but this is pretty much the basics. Thanks!

During preparation of a memoir concerning the Theodosiou family from Nestani, I have come across some oral histories that suggest quite strongly that one of my great uncles, George Papadimitriou also from Nestani, killed his wife in the United States probably some time in the 1920s. Most likely this happened in California. I have searched many records exhaustively, but have not been able to find anything about the murder. Does anyone recall their parents or grandparents talking about someone from Nestani killing his wife in the United States? I would appreciate any and all details. Thank you.

Hey everyone!
What a great thread. Merry Christmas by the way! I mean, Kala Xristougenna. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this conversation..so many familiar names! My father is from Tsipiana (George Konstantinos Syrengelas). He came to America in December '51 when he was 15. We live in Fountain Valley, CA. I'm thinking it's been too long since I've been back to Greece--since '06. Hope to see you all there this easter. Or summer. Filia!!

Hi,

My name is Matina. A couple of years ago I had a wonderful response when I was enquiring about a friend whose grandfather was born in Nestani. She was thrilled when we managed to make it to Nestani and find her grandfather's house.

My family originated from Levidi but unfortunately none are left there. At the moment I am trying to obtain my Greek passport and need to see if my parents added me on their oikogeniaki merida. Unfortunately both my parents have been dead for many years. Can anyone tell me where in Tripoli I need to go to see if I have been added and where I need to go to obatin copies of their birth certificates and marriage license?

Many thabks,

Matina
